Inside The First Mind

How it started. Why it matters.

“Rooted in truth, tenderness, and the sacred mess of becoming.”

The First Mind was born from a rupture — a collapse that left me asking deeper questions than any role, title, or coping strategy could answer.

I built this space for the in-between. For the ones who’ve outgrown who they were told to be but haven’t yet figured out who they’re becoming. For those navigating identity, healing, and self-trust in a world that often demands performance over presence.

This is a space for truth without pressure. A place to feel what’s real — and return to yourself, gently.

Monica Patrice Wallace, M.Ed., is a writer, educator, and emotional alchemist devoted to helping people return to themselves. After nearly two decades as a school counselor, she’s held space for countless families navigating the emotional terrain of life’s hardest moments. Through grief, growth, and the quiet ruptures we often carry alone. Her master’s in counseling laid the foundation—but her lived experience and emotional fluency became the real curriculum.

After closing that chapter, Monica now works as a trusted guide to leaders and visionaries, helping them build emotionally honest, soul-aligned environments at work and beyond.

Her work is rooted in truth, tenderness, and the sacred mess of becoming. Through her brand, The First Mind Co., she creates tools and spaces for emotional literacy, embodied healing, and the quiet power of self-recognition. People are drawn to her work because it names what they’ve been feeling—but haven’t yet had language for. Whether through journals, courses, or conversation, Monica’s presence is a steady mirror—reflecting not just who you’ve been, but who you’re allowed to become.

I didn’t create this space because I had all the answers. I created it because I needed somewhere quiet enough to hear myself think.
